A Reimagining of Trailblazer, the 1986 game by Mr. Chip Software

Tiny Trailblazer is an obstacle-based arcade racing game developed in PICO-8. It is a reimagining of Trailblazer, a video game released on various platforms, developed by Mr. Chip Software and published by Gremlin Graphics in 1986.

In the game, a ball runs within a space track; our goal is to overcome obstacles and go as far as possible. All wrapped in a retro atmosphere reminiscent of the 8-bit generation.

The game features several modes:

  • Arcade (both single-player and local multiplayer): reach checkpoints before time runs out. Dexterity, skill, and certainly luck will be essential. Great for short, fun matches;
  • Coop (multiplayer only): playing with a friend, reach the end of the track in the shortest time possible. Complicity and cooperation will be the key to your success. Ideal for tournaments and competitions among groups of friends.

A game from my childhood that I carry in my heart, and I'm happy to have brought it back under a new light.
